On
Thursday while at the park dear sweet child climbed a 3 foot fence and jumped off landing on his arm while I was busy dealing with cooper. He was screaming at the top of his lungs so I ran over to check him out... At first glance you really couldn't tell anything was wrong and so at first I thought he was just being dramatic. (
I'm such a great mom) After the screaming didn't stop I thought i better check it out. First we went to and
instacare place who then sent us to
children's hospital in salt lake. All this
traveling and getting in and out of the car was no small task for a mother on her own with two crying children one who can't walk and the other who refused to walk. Thankfully Jim caught up with us in the ER at the hospital where we then spent about 9 hours. To make a very long story semi short they lost the five original
xrays due to a computer problem had to take five more but by that time
Parker was tired, starving, and in alot of pain... so then came two doses of morphine and an IV as well. They found out that he had dislocated his elbow and broken a part of the radial head. After sedating him they put his arm back in place and put on a temporary cast. We all left tired, emotional and hungry.

Some high points were when we were wheeling him out to the car he said " how am I going to get into the car. " we said well stand up and dad can lift you in.. he looked at us kinda strand slowly got up and pumped his fist in the air and said " I can walk, I can walk" Apparently he had thought he had lost his ability to walk! It's possibly people in the parking lot thought they had witnessed some kind of miracle.
He also was super disappointed when he realized he couldn't clap " oh man now I can't clap".
After his last follow up appointment he got a green hard cast and they found there were two breaks not just one. He should been all healed and ready to rock and roll in about three weeks. He went to his last baseball game so they could retire jersey number 1 for the season! The coaches offered him a third base coaching position.

OH NO! Poor little guy! He sounds like quite a character! I'm glad things are ok (for the most part) =) When life calms down, would love to meet up with ya!
How did I miss this post? I'm just now reading it . . . and while I am so sorry for the day you had and for Parker's broken bones, the "I can walk" and "Now I can't clap" gave me a good laugh!
